I went to see Midnight on Saturday. It was described as a workshop production, though it was presented as a fully staged musical. My beloved and I were very impressed.
The producer gave a little speech about how much they wanted feedback. So we produced this podcast. It was easier to talk about the show between us than to write a review discussing it in detail. There’s a lot to be said about it. It’s an ambitious piece and some things work better than others, so we wanted the chance to talk it over in some depth. We’ve never done a podcast before, so this, too, is something of a workshop piece. Let us know what you think.
I’m posting this on a Monday, rather than waiting for my usual Friday posting date because the show only runs to 8 March and I’d like you to hear about it and maybe go and see it for yourself. It’s on at Sadler’s Wells East in Stratford.
If you usually get emails from me, you’re not getting one for this because I don’t want to bother your inbox twice in three days and this is so far off my normal historical and tango ramblings that it might not appeal. I hope that those of you who listen to it will get something out of it.
